Yahoo! Mail is very efficient in sending, receiving, and
managing emails; however, many users sometimes face trouble sending or
receiving emails because of different reasons. If you are also facing issues
sending or receiving emails in your Yahoo Mail account, you can follow the
measures mentioned-below to overcome the problem.
Solution (Use Yahoo! SMTP)
You need to:
1.
Click the gear
icon (usually
top right somewhere)
2.
Select Settings
3.
Select the Accounts
and Import section
4.
Locate your Yahoo!
email address in the Send mail as section, and then
click the edit info link
5.
Now click the Next
Step >> button
6.
In the SMTP
Server section enter smtp.mail.yahoo.com
7.
For username enter the
part of your email address before the @ sign, i.e. enter fredsmithand
not fredsmith@yahoo.com
8.
For password enter
your Yahoo! password (note if you’re using two-factor authentication you will
need to create an app password from within Yahoo!)
9.
Now click the Save
Changes button
You should now be able
to send emails in Gmail as if they were coming from your Yahoo! email account.
This saves you having to login to Yahoo!
Measures to Fix Yahoo! Mail Sending or Receiving Issue:
Steps to
Fix Sending Email Issues
1. Make sure the email was sent
·
Check Sent Folder: If you find your email
in the Sent folder,
this means your email was sent successfully.
·
Check for Typos: Make sure that you
have entered the correct email address in the “To” field.
·
Check Drafts Folder: If you don’t find your
send email in the “Sent” folder,
it could be in the “Drafts” folder.
2. Ask the Recipient to Check
their Email Account
·
Check Spam Folder: Ask the recipient to
check his “Spam” folder.
Your email might be getting delivered to the recipient’s “Spam”
folder.
·
Blocked Address List: Make sure that the
recipient has not unknowingly added your email address to his Blocked Email
address list.
·
Filters: Ask the recipient to check other
folders than “Inbox” as well
as “Filters” can redirect your email in case of any
matching keyword criteria.
Steps to Fix Issues in Receiving Emails
1. Check Your Account for Any
Errors
·
Log into your Yahoo! Mail account and send an email to yourself.
·
If you notice any error, try fixing that.
·
If you don’t see any error, your account is working fine.
2. Check Account Settings in your
Yahoo Mail Account
·
Check Spam Folder: Check your spam folder
to ensure that email was not mismarked as Spam.
·
Blocked Email Address List: Make sure you
have not blocked the sender mistakenly.
·
Reply-to address: Your Reply-to address
should be blank.
·
Email Filters: Check filters in your
account to see if the emails are getting routed to some other folder.
3. Ask the Sender to Check Their
Account
·
Ask the sender to ensure that your email is entered by him
correctly.
·
Ask them to take assistance from the email service provider.
